A pioneering residential scheme for the final part of DeTrafford’s Castlefield Masterplan.
Creating a new piece of public realm is fundamental to our scheme, formed by stepping back the development, to maximise post noon daylight and to create a natural heart to the neighbourhood. A taller element works as a gateway into the site, stitching in the new massing to the existing streetscapes.
All apartments will have a dual aspect to eradicate negative issues such as overheating and deep plan layouts. The journey to the apartments will be just as considered, creating the conditions for visual links between floors and helping to foster a greater community between residents.
Balconies are to be ‘greened’ providing an extension to the landscaping on the ground floor, allowing the building to fully engage with the new square and other adjacent buildings roof terraces.
